Casey Kasem continues to receive round-the-clock medical care.

The radio legend was transported by ambulance to a Washington hospital Sunday night and there he remains in critical condition, according to St. Anthony's Hospital spokesman Scott Thompson.

"Mr. Kasem is alert and appears comfortable at this time," he said in a statement released to CNN, adding that the 82-year-old former American Top 40 host is receiving antibiotics through IVs, blood pressure support medicine and care for his bed sores.

"Any further updates on Mr. Kasem's condition will be at the discretion and approval of his children," Thompson concluded.

Kasem, who suffers from Lewy body, a condition that shares certain symptoms with Parkinson's disease, was taken to the hospital from a friend's home where he was staying with wife Jean Kasem after his daughter Kerri showed up with paramedics.

Jean was caught on camera throwing raw hamburger meat at Kerri before allowing her and the emergency responders inside. "In the name of King David, I threw a piece of raw meat into the street in exchange for my husband to the wild rabid dogs," the actress later told NBC News.

The PR company representing Kerri tweeted Thursday, "A patient can be listed as both critical and stable, if his condition is poor but not deteriorating further."

A judge last week granted Kerri regular visits with her father, whom she and her siblings claimed had been ferried away to Washington by Jean without their knowledge, leaving them unaware of his location for days.
