Lowe has recurred sporadically as Nero throughout the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons, after Eddie was initially hired to play the filming version of Hank Moody. Since his first appearance in the Emmy award-winning series, Eddie has also been extremely serious about his acting craft, and now the eccentric character has gone into full-on Method actor mode to prepare for his new role in Santa Monica Cop.

"All the finest movies stars are coming to television today," Nero proudly boasts in our clip above. "And why not? Two days on a set, plus a mini-monologue, equals an Emmy nomination!" Oh yes, Eddie, we're sure it's that easy…

To get you even more excited for Lowe's outrageous return, we've also scored two exclusive photos of Eddie in his cop gear, and we've got to be honest, we've loving the ‘stache!
