The Royals, E!'s first original scripted series centered around a fictional British royal family featuring Elizabeth Hurley as the queen of England, has added Merritt Patterson to the cast.
Merritt will play the role of an American girl whose father works for the royal family, causing her to end up in a relationship with the prince, played by William Moseley. The cast also includes Vincent Regan as the king, Alexandra Park, Tom Austen, Jake Maskall, Ukweli Roach and Oliver Milburn.
The show is centered around the trials and tribulations of a modern day monarchy and is filled with drama, decadence and more.
Merritt has appeared in Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief as well as on the TV series Supernatural.
Mark Schwahn of One Tree Hill is writing and directing the one-hour drama series, which is set to debut sometime in 2015.
