Tom Cruise was a smash hit on The Tonight Show Wednesday—literally.

The Edge of Tomorrow star agreed to play a new game with host Jimmy Fallon. Always one to play fair, Cruise asked where he should stand. Fallon smiled and quipped, "You stand further back [than me]."

The rules of "Face Breakers" are simple: the players throw footballs at a wall of glass panels, which feature either an image of either Fallon or Cruise. Whoever smashes all their panels, wins the game.

Unsurprisingly, Cruise's first throw was on target, shattering a glass panel featuring the comic's face. Fallon also broke glass on his first attempt—but unfortunately, he smashed the wrong panel.

"Did you just hit yourself?" Cruise, 51, asked.

Cruise and Fallon have a history of competing with one another on the late-night TV. In December 2013, the Mission: Impossible star gleefully soaked the Saturday Night Live alum with a water gun.
