If Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone still look as though they're having a great time together after nearly 10 years of marriage...

    That's because they are!

"We have a great marriage, and outside forces can't really change that," McCarthy says in the July 2014 issue of Redbook, featuring the Mike & Molly star looking chic in seasonal black and white on the cover.

"Success doesn't really define us, even though we love what we do. The important thing is our family and kids."

She and Falcone, who played her air marshal love interest in Bridesmaids, tied the knot in October 2005 and have two daughters together, 7-year-old Vivian and 4-year-old Georgette. Falcone has also had cameos in The Heat and Identity Thief and appears in his wife's next starring vehicle, Tammy.

"I see teenagers or people who are 21 and think, ‘I was an idiot at that age,'" the now 43-year-old actress told the magazine. "I was running around New York like a crazy woman. Thank God I only had three and a half cents to my name. I was too immature to handle success back then."

But it least it doesn't sound as if success has made McCarthy any less grounded—and she wants to make sure that her day job doesn't get in the way of the 24/7 role she plays of Mom.

Because apparently Vivian has caught on to the fact that Mom is a celebrity.

"She asked me, ‘Are you famous?'" McCarthy recalled. "And I said to her, ‘Famous doesn't mean anything. Just because people know my face doesn't mean they know us or that it makes us any more interesting or better.'"

Meanwhile, not only was she too immature (according to her, anyway) to handle success 20 years ago, it also sounds like her style choices weren't ready for the spotlight yet, either.

"I wore white kabuki makeup, and had blue-black hair," she revealed, laughing. "At one point I shaved an inch around my hairline and continued the white makeup up so it made my head look slightly deformed.

"I thought it was hilarious. I was in a little town and I just got a kick out of it. I was never sullen. I was a terrible punk—I was still so chatty."

Fast-forward to today and McCarthy has definitely come into her own in the fashion department, even starting her own line for plus-size women so that gals of all shapes could have more chic options to choose from.

"When I go shopping, most of the time I'm disappointed," she told Redbook. "Two Oscars ago, I couldn't find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers—very high level ones who make lots of dresses for people—and they all said no."

Let's just assume that McCarthy has instead been having to fend off designers vying to dress her ever since.
