50 Cent Explains His Disastrous First Pitch on Good Morning America: "It Slipped!"

50 Cent's first pitch at the New York Mets game on Tuesday was arguably one of the worst ceremonial pitches of all time—and he knows it.

The rapper addressed the disastrous first pitch on Good Morning America Friday, joking that "it was Curtis" who threw the ball and not 50 (whose real name is Curtis Jackson).

"See I was trying to get Curtis to be more like 50 Cent. 50 Cent is a star and Curtis just does things for no reason," he said as the audience erupted into cheers.

He then admitted that he was even jokingly reprimanded by law enforcement for the much-buzzed about snafu. "But I actually got pulled over by New York City police, they pulled me over in my car, and he pulled me over and I said, 'I got my license, right?' Because I was a little nervous when he pulled me over, I was, like, 'Oh no, what did I do,' and then he said, 'You know that pitch was terrible.'"

As for the reports that claimed 50 flubbed his toss on purpose in order to create publicity for his new album Animal Ambition?

"Oh no, it slipped! It slipped out of my hand," the rapper insisted.

The 38-year-old hitmaker will return to Citi Field on June 14, where he will perform for the crowd in anticipation of the release of his latest record. So does he have any plans to redeem himself at the pitcher's mound?

"I'm not a professional pitcher, I make music," he said with a smile.

    Smart call.
