    Talk about life imitating art!

Beautiful starlet Elle Fanning graced the blue carpet tonight looking just like a Disney princess—Sleeping Beauty to be exact—which is perfect considering the young actress plays Princess Aurora in her film Maleficent.

Fanning wore a dazzling light blue, off-the-shoulder gown with a stunning jeweled choker. To complete the Disney transformation, Elle pulled her light tresses back for an innocent and sweet look.

However, this may not have been a funny coincidence. It seems like there was a memo to the stars of the film to dress similar to their characters for the big event in Los Angeles tonight.

LOOK: Check out Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on the blue carpet!

Why do we say that? Well, because Angelina Jolie showed up wearing a black strapless Versace gown that was long and leather and perfect for an evil queen.

While Fanning isn't an actual princess in real life, it was recently revealed that she does have some regal blood running through her veins.

According to Ancestry.com, Elle and sister Dakota Fanning are direct decedents of King Edward III, who ruled England from 1327-1377 and whose reign saw the start of The Hundred Years' war between England and France.

But that's not even the best part! The two are also related to Kate Middleton and are distant cousins of the Duchess of Cambridge (Elle is Kate's 21st cousin to be exact).

Clearly, Elle was made for this role.
