The Worst Wigs in the X-Men Movies, Ranked

The X-Men movies have made about a bajillion dollars, collectively, at the box office. Still, the latest installment, Days of Future Past, continues to look like they're spending $5 max on their wig budget. Here are the wigs of X-Men, is increasing order of horribleness:

20. Jennifer Lawrence as Raven (Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Considering what you're about to see, we'll take this. This is passable. A for effort.

19. Famke Janssen as Jean Grey (X2: United)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Again, not too bad! Is this a cute hairstyle? Of course not. But could you conceivably imagine someone in real life having this hairstyle? Sure! And from a certain distance, you might not even be able to tell it's a wig.

18. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (The Wolverine)

This wig is supposed to be an unkempt, greasy, ratty mess. It looks like an unkempt, greasy, ratty mess. Nailed it, wig department! The beard wig, on the other hand, does not look like anything that would naturally grown on someone's face.

17. Jennifer Lawrence and Rebecca Romijn (All X-Men Movies)

Mystique, X-Men Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

The character is supposed to have slicked back, bright red hair. The hairline on these is a little insane, but otherwise this is about as good as it's going to get. Both Lawrence and Romijn's wigs are fairly comparable, though the Jennifer Lawrence seems to be cutting corners these days.

16. Morgan Lily as Raven (First Class)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

That said, this little version is also a little worse.

15. Mei Melançon as Psylocke (The Last Stand)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

It looks like bad hair. But at least it looks like hair. Not all wigs on this list can say the same.

14. Kelsey Grammer as Beast (The Last Stand)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

As far as bright blue Beast wigs go, this looks very stylish! Very chic!

13. Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw (First Class)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

We're not 100 percent positive if this is a wig or if it's actually Kevin Bacon's real hair. Mainly, we're concerned about those sideburns. Those do not look like real sideburns. There is no way those could be his real sideburns, right?

12. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (X2: United - Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

After six movies, this wig is classic. No, it's not great. But we're used to it. We have wig Stockholm's Syndrome. It's consistent too, and looks enough like Wolverine's hair in the comic books that you're willing to forgive it.

11. Fan Bingbing as Blink (Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Honestly, it looked better in the movie. Maybe because the scenes took place at night.

10. Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask (Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

This is a helmet.

9. Anna Paquin as Rogue (All X-Men Movies)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Rogue's superpower was having a wig that always made her look like an 80-year-old gypsy woman who was about to put a hex on you (to be fair, the crocheted scarves didn't help).

8. Famke Janssen as Jean Grey (The Last Stand)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

The Dark Phoenix storyline was about when Jean Grey's lacefront started to show. This is a cheap wig. And it doesn't get better. (MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT FOR DAYS OF FUTURE PAST: Famke's back! And that horrible wig too!)

7. Nicholas Holt as Beast (First Class/Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

It's almost unfair to compare Beast's wig to a Rogue or a Phoenix. He's a blue beast. That's not natural. But we've seen that a blue Beast wig can be made to look semi-respectable (see no. 14). This is not that wig.

6. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine (X-Men)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

In 2000, when X-Men first came out, this wig probably did not look too bad. Looking back now, gosh, this wig is a bad wig. Admittedly, the first movie did not have the budget that its sequels did, but how much of that budget was spent on gel? All of it?

5. Halle Berry as Storm (X2: United)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Storm has appeared in four of the possible seven X-Men films. And in four out of four of those movies she has worn a REALLY bad wig. This is the least offensive of the four. Does it look like it could be Halle Berry's real hair? No. Does it look like it could be a human being's real hair? Also, no. But after this wig, they keep getting worse...

4. Halle Berry as Storm (X-Men)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

This is literally the same wig you would get when you buy a "Storm" Halloween costume.

3. Halle Berry as Storm (The Last Stand)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

And worse. And just when you think there is no possible way it could possibly get worse...

2. Halle Berry as Storm (Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

This happens. Sorry about your head, Halle Berry. You're better than this (probably).

1. Evan Peters as Quicksilver (Days of Future Past)

X-Men, Wigs Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox

Who signed off on this? Are they fired? This wig is plastic. It's almost like the production blew all their money on the special effects for Quicksilver's main action sequence (which was awesome—money well spent), and then had to settle for a wig from Party City. This wig is embarrassing.

Do better, X-Men: Apocalypse.
