An Absolutely Fabulous movie is coming your way, sweet darlings! The beloved British series' creator and star Jennifer Saunders reportedly revealed the Ab Fab news while promoting hew new book, Bonkers: My Life in Laughs, at the Hay Festival in Wales.
"I am writing the film as we speak—it's in the pipeline," she told the crowd at the literature festival.
The film, which would reunite Saunders with co-star Joanna Lumley, would hit screens in 2015, if all goes according to plan. "I am hoping it will be released by the end of next year," Saunders is said to have told festival attendees.
Absolutely Fabulous first debuted in Britain in 1992 and introduced viewers to Edina Monsoon (Saunders), and Patsy Stone (Lumley), as two high-powered, opiniated and irrepressible women working in London's fashion and P.R. scene. After three seasons, the series signed off in 1995, before enjoying a two-series run from 2001-04.
The fan favorite duo then reunited for three specials in 2012 to celebrate the cult series' 20th anniversary.
Absolutely Fabulous enjoyed guest appearances from some pretty big names, including Whoopi Goldberg, Helena Bonham Carter, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, as well as Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Idris Elba.
Fingers crossed Edina and Patsy will be hitting the big screen in 2015!
