Elle Fanning might play Princess Aurora in Maleficent, but in real life, she's still a 16-year-old high school girl!
So when Dakota Fanning's kid sis isn't making movies or palling around with Angelina Jolie, she's doing the normal rite of passage stuff—like going to prom! On Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Elle revealed how a boy asked her out to the dance last year and how she almost didn't realize her promopsal was happening.
"He called me at school one day, and he was like, 'I got in a car accident! Come down to my car,'" she recalled. "I'm like like, 'Oh, gosh!' I go in panic mode and go running down [to the parking lot with his car]."
"He was in the front seat," she said, "and he goes, "Can you look in the back trunk to get a tool box?'"
Elle's suitor then popped to the drunk, and the actress proceeded to search frantically. "But I didn't see a tool box, so I got the first aid kit out [to give to him]," she said. "He's like, 'No! There were flowers in the trunk—roses in the trunk!"
"But I totally passed the roses and went to the first aid kit," Elle explained laughingly. "It was so funny! He was like, 'No, will you go to the prom?'"
The Maleficent star agreed to go (although, guys, take note: It's not funny to send prospective dates into states of panic over made-up car accidents!), and told Jimmy the dance "was real fun!"
