It appears that reconciliation isn't in the cards for Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald.
The actress has filed for divorce from her singer-songwriter husband after less than three years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. They did not have any children together.
Reed, 25, and McDonald, 29, revealed in March that they had separated and had been living apart for six months, though they said that they were continuing to work on an album together.
Per court documents filed May 16 obtained by E! News, Reed is asking the court to not award her ex spousal support.
The Alabama-born McDonald was a contestant on the 10th season of American Idol in 2011 when he met Reed at the premiere of Red Riding Hood.
After a whirlwind courtship and a sixth-place finish for McDonald, who gave Jennifer Lopez "goosies" with his cover of Rod Stewart's "Maggie May," he and Reed announced their engagement that June.
They tied the knot on Oct. 16, 2011, in Malibu and cut the tune "Now I've Found You" for the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 soundtrack. The couple also appeared in Hanson's "Get the Girl Back" video together.
