Marilyn Manson Mourns His Mother's Death, Calls Her the "First and Greatest Believer in Me"

Singer expresses his sorrow via Twitter and Facebook

Marilyn Manson is in mourning.

The shock rocker's mother, Barbara J. Warner, passed away last week after a long battle with dementia. She was 68.

Manson took to both Twitter and Facebook and shared a heartfelt post.

"Mother, to the first and greatest believer in me...I hope I see you again someday," the singer, whose real name is Brian Warner, wrote on Sunday. "But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do. I'll make you proud and satisfied that you know that you made the son you wanted. I love you."

According to an obituary, "services were private" and "in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association."

This isn't the first time we've seen Manson's softer side.

Last June, the singer sent well-wishes to Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris Jackson, in the wake of her alleged suicide attempt.

"I hope you feel better," he said in a statement. "You will be on my guest list anytime you want."

Manson subsequently dedicated his tune "Disposable Teens" to Paris during one his concerts in Los Angeles.
