Watch: Usher and Shakira's "The Voice" Futures

The Voice may be saying goodbye to Usher and Shakira for good after this season. The two coaches who joined in season four of the NBC reality series returned for season six, but season seven they are both out with futures unclear.

"I think being at The Voice has been not only a greater connection to my fans and for people who know I guess now a little bit more about my process as an artist and mentor…if there's an opportunity to be here, I'd love to," Usher told E! News' Jesse Giddings. "It is a little bit too early to say where I'm going to land. Right now I'm going to be focused on my new album."

When The Voice returns in the fall, Pharrell and Gwen Stefani will sit alongside Adam Levine and Blake Shelton in the spinning red chairs. Shakira seemed a bit more confident that her time with The Voice has come to an end.

"I am going to miss them…I am sure that I am going to miss them, but that's just life, things change. I have to go back to my career," Shakira said. "I have to prepare my tour, I have to go on tour, I have to be a mom. So many things to juggle, but it's been a complete blast, an amazing experience."

Shakira said she only planned on doing one season of The Voice, but signed on because she was having "so much fun." As for her future? The new mom said maybe when her son is five and The Voice is still going strong she could come back.

"You never know…I might come back. For now it's just about the music I want to make and promote," she said.

(E! and The Voice are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
