Alec Baldwin found himself in trouble with the law this morning.

Around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, the 30 Rock star was issued a summons by New York City police for riding his bicycle the wrong direction on Fifth Avenue, law enforcement sources say. Baldwin was asked to identify himself but did not have any I.D. on him. The actor then reportedly became "belligerent" and was issued a second summons of disorderly conduct before being taken to New York's 13th precinct station (if an individual issued a summons doesn't have I.D. on them, they are taken into custody).

In Touch was first to report the news of Baldwin's arrest.

Earlier this year, the 56-year-old actor announced his plans to move to California and say "goodbye to public life" in an essay for New York Magazine. "I've lived this for 30 years," he said, "I'm done with it."

Baldwin lamented his "sh--ty" 2013, including what he described as "an altercation on the street, in which I was accused—wrongly—of using a gay slur..."

He also acknowledged that "there's an impression that I'm someone who seeks to have violent confrontations with people," he wrote, clarifying, "I don't. Do I regret screaming at some guy who practically clipped my kid in the head with the lens of a camera? Yeah, I probably do, because it's only caused me problems."
