Forget doing things ironically, kids—celebs are going meta these days!
You might remember last year when the Gos stepped out wearing a T-shirt with a Life magazine image of a young Macaulay printed on his T-shirt. Mr. Culkin, clearly flattered, was amused by this, so he wore a T-shirt with the image printed on it of Ryan wearing his Macaulay tee. In other words, Macaulay, wearing Ryan, wearing Macaulay.
His pizza tribute band tweeted out the image, writing simply, "Let's get meta #ryangosling #macaulayculkin."
Like Macaulay, now 33, Ryan, also now 33, got his start in Hollywood at a young age. Ryan's childhood success, which included a stint on The All New Mickey Mouse Club alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, wasn't quite on the same level as Macaulay's early on. The latter was, after all, a recognizable star at age 9 with the success of Home Alone, and he headlined a handful of other successful movies after that.
But as Ryan made the gradual transformation from cutie pie kid actor to swoon-worthy Noah Calhoun to the legit leading man he is today, Macaulay's interest in the biz began to fade. His last significant role was in 2004's Saved!, but he's largely remained out of the limelight and focused on his music. He did though, lest anyone forget, date Mila Kunis from 2002 to 2010.
Now if Mila and Ashton Kutcher named their baby-to-be Macaulay, that would really be meta.
