Hey assbutts, we've got some awesome news to share.

Just ahead of the finale, E! News has learned that Misha Collins will return to Supernatural as a series regular in Season 10. Of course, details about Castiel's role in the season finale, airing on Tuesday, May 20, and Season 10 are being kept under wraps.

While the fan favorite actor was billed as a series regular (and also directed his first episode of the hit CW drama) in Season 9, Collins did not have a deal in place for Season 10, causing fans to worry about his future in the iconic Cas trench coat. (This wouldn't be the first time as Cas was "killed" in Season 7.)

Before Collins' deal was finalized, supervising producer Andrew Dabb talked to E! News about his possible role in Season 10. "He is part of the mythology as he has been in seasons past for us," he said. "As far as next season goes, look, we love Misha. Misha's awesome. I have a hard time imagining the show without him."

Of course, who knows what version of Castiel fans will be seeing in Season 10 as Collins has taken on many different iterations of the angel. So is there a side of Castiel that the actor would like to explore? "I don't know what is left other than cross-dressing Cas. He's been crazy, he's been megalomaniacal, he's been contrite, he's been self-loathing, he's been whimsical, he's been human, he's been a leviathan," Collins told us. "I think that there's enough here that if they wanted to go back down any of those roads, there's plenty to mine. But he has not done cross-dressing yet, so that is a pretty wide-open field right there!"

So what can viewers expect from the finale? "All bets are off when Sam, Dean and Castiel take the fight to Metatron," boss Jeremy Carver previewed. "Uneasy alliances and brutal choices await...all culminating in shocking consequences."

Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
