Pippa Middleton is something of a fashion expert, so it should go without saying that the Duchess of Cambridge's sister should know when not to dig her heels into the ground.
However, the 30-year-old brunette beauty did just that—literally—during the horse races at the Royal Enclosure at Ascot where she wore a pair of nude stiletto heels and happened to have a rather tough time keeping her shoes from sinking into the grass.
Rookie move, girl!
With the exception of her choice in footwear, Middleton looked gorgeous in a chiffon floral print dress which she paired with delicate jewelry and a matching fascinator hat.
The Vogue contributing editor wrote about her experience for the mag and even mentioned her poor choice of shoes, suggesting ladies wear wedges instead of stilettos when you are going to be walking around outside all day.
"It is a busy day trying to fit in horse racing, betting, picnics, and afternoon tea — oh, and avoiding sinking your heels into the grass," she wrote. "I recommend wedged shoes — there's often a lot of walking."
She added: "Some picnics are really elaborate, with white tablecloths and even real butlers!"
Lesson learned, Pippa.
While Middleton may have failed in the footwear department, she looked gorgeous during a recent afternoon outing on the streets of London, even—dare we say—outshined her sister Kate for a day.
Pippa perfected casual street style, sporting a trendy blue blazer, skinny jeans and cute brown boots.
To which we say: stick with the flats (or wedges!), girl.
