It's the end of an era.

After 14 seasons on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Paul Guilfoyle is saying goodbye.

In the CBS hit drama's Season 14 finale, airing tonight at 10 p.m., Guilfoyle will make his final appearance as a series regular as Captain Jim Brass, and his farewell is sure to be an emotional one as Brass has to make a difficult decision after his daughter attempts suicide.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at Brass' final episode, which finds him sharing a poignant scene with his step-daughter, who is unconscious in the hospital. And dare we be so bold as to say the exclusive clip above may just be the actor's best work on the show ever?!

After his exit from the series was announced, executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Don McGill issued a statement praising Guilfoyle's work over the last 14 seasons.

"Paul made Capt. Brass a standout character," they said. "He is not just an original cast member, he is an original. In a show about forensics, fans always looked forward to the handcuffs coming out, and Capt. Brass putting his spin on the crime of the week, just as Paul Guilfoyle put his indelible stamp on the character and the show. He will be missed."

In addition to 17 other series, CBS recently picked up CSI for a 15th season.

CSI's season finale airs tonight at 10 p.m. on CBS.
