With Anna Wintour's Costume Institute gala happening on Monday, we decided to take a walk down fashion memory lane and remember some of our favorite fashion crimes.
The Met gala is all about taking daring risks while still looking utterly chic, and that can be pretty tricky to pull off. So it's no wonder that some stars have fallen a bit flat in years past.
Some outrageous outfits are so crazy that they actually work, while others are just so crazy. And we've gotta give props to all the stars who step out in something polarizing. They always get us talking.
Like remember when Madonna wore thigh-high boots and teal bunny ears to the 2009 gala? Yeah, that happened. Or when Alicia Keys wore an all-white, sequined tuxedo in 2003.
Or go back all the way back to 1999 when Jennifer Love Hewitt got herself an invite to the gala and showed up in a white furry skirt and crop top. Hey, it was the late '90s—that look was in then.
