It's over for Almost Human: Fox has canceled the freshman sci-fi drama. The futuristic cop drama from J.J. Abrams starred Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly and Lili Taylor.
Set in 2048 where crime rates have shot up considerably, Almost Human followed Detective John Kennex (Urban) and his android partner Dorian (Ealy) as they fought crime and developed a relationship. Taylor played the captain and Kelly played Detective Valerie Stahl, Urban's love interest.
Almost Human started off strong in the ratings, but dipped as its run went on. Its final broadcast episode had 5.4 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Still, its DVR numbers were good...but not good enough for Fox.
Almost Human was one of many shows on the bubble of cancellation. As upfronts quickly approach, the fates of several shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Community still remain unknown.
