Star Wars: Episode VII has a real, live cast!

And presumably a plot, too, but fat chance that director-cowriter J.J. Abrams is going to let too much of that start making the rounds. So far we know it starts after Return of the Jedi ended. Our interest is piqued.

But we don't need any more right now, because there is finally have a whole batch of confirmed names and faces to populate the world originally created by George Lucas and being revived by Abrams and new Lucasfilm owner Disney.

Quite importantly, original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill are officially confirmed as returning to reprise the iconic roles of Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker.

No, they weren't all in London coincidentally over the weekend—the film is in preproduction and cameras are set to start rolling at London's Pinewood Studios in May.

Previously known (or rumored) cast members also included Peter Mayhew, who will reprise the role of Chewbacca, and newcomer-to-the-universe Adam Driver, of Girls fame.

Among those newly announced today: Two-time Oscar nominee Max von Sydow and Lord of the Rings scene-stealer Andy Serkis. But how about the names that aren't of the household variety...yet?
