Those dancing shoes can be pretty painful.
During Monday night's Dancing With the Stars, contestant Amy Purdy suffered a shoulder injury during her rumba with dancing pro Derek Hough. Following her performance, the 34-year-old was whisked off to the hospital while her fellow contestants and viewers at home wished her well.
Now, Purdy has taken to Twitter to give fans an update on her injury. "So, Looks like I have a rib out of place and my muscles are in spasm," Purdy tweeted Tuesday morning.
So does this mean that that the Hough's partner is officially out of the running for the mirrorball trophy?
Not so fast! Purdy added, "I am being very proactive in healing up so I can continue this journey."
Following Purdy's DWTS injury, a source close to the show exclusively revealed to E! Online that the snowboard star is "still in pain and being treated by doctors." The source also added that execs will "know more later this week" about Purdy's ability to continue her dancing journey in the competition.
However it appears that Purdy is keeping a refreshingly glass-half-full mentality during this trying time. The athlete posted to Twitter, "Please keep the positive healing thoughts and votes coming!!! #purdyhough #dontstopwontstop #DWTS"
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
