On April 29, 2011—three years ago this Tuesday—Kate Middleton said "I do" to longtime love Prince William!
Some 2,000 friends and family members gathered together at Westminster Abbey for the royal wedding, while the rest of us watched (regardless of time zones!) from all around the world. Kate, who was 29 at the time, wowed in a custom Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton, while William, who was 28 on the big day, looked timeless and dapper in his Royal Air Force uniform.
Best man Prince Harry was his mischievous, handsome self—sneaking a peek at the bride just before her father gave her away, whispering to William, "Wait until you see her!" And while Maid of Honour Pippa Middleton highlighted her own best asset in a curve-hugging Alexander McQueen dress, she wasn't able to upstage big sis Kate on her special day!
Once the honeymoon period was over, Kate and William eased into married life in Anglesey. They got a dog, an adorable black Cocker Spaniel named Lupo, and seemed quite happy as newlyweds. Kate took on her royal duties gracefully, becoming a patron to several charities supporting children and the arts, while William continued his service with the Royal Air Force.
The charming couple represented the royal family around the world and also served as great ambassadors for the U.K. during the the 2012 Summer Olympics in London!
But the end of 2012 brought about some big, big changes for Will and Kate...In early-December, following Kate's brief hospitalization at King Edward VII Hospital in London for hyperemesis gravidarum (acute morning sickness), the palace announced the duke and duchess were expecting.
After a rocky start, though, Kate seemed to sail through her pregnancy, popping up all over Europe at varying royal appearances. Things went well for dad, too, who confirmed in September 2013 that after seven years of service, he would be stepping down from his RAF post to be a full-time royal, committing his time to philanthropic pursuits.
The future mom and dad even bid farewell to their quiet life in Anglesey, moving in to Apartment 1A in the newly-renovated Kensington Palace in anticipation of what was to come.
Then on July 22, 2013—a few weeks past his expected due date—Kate gave birth to the future king of England at St. Mary's Hospital's with hubby Prince William by her side!

The proud first time parents introduced the royal baby to the world the very next day on the steps of the Lindo Wing, announcing his name the following day: Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge!
Kate and William's new addition has proven to be not only adorable, but he's a big hit around the globe! At just nine months of age, little Georgie just successfully completed his first royal tour Down Under.
Clearly, Will and Kate's first three years have been wonderful. Let's hope the next three—for mum, dad and Prince George—prove to be just as joyous!
