Chris Martin has finally spoken out following the news that he and wife Gwyneth Paltrow have separated after more than 10 years of marriage.

In his first interview since the split, the 37-year-old Coldplay frontman addresses his personal life while speaking with Radio 1's Zane Lowe ahead of the release of his band's new album Ghost Stories, which hits airwaves on May 19.

"Everyone in their life goes through their challenges—whether it's love or money or kids or illness," he said in the preview trailer for his tell-all interview before sharing his love for One Direction.

"I'm saying One Direction are brilliant and I'm not kidding," the surprising Directioner said with a laugh.

Other topics on the table seemingly include Justin Bieber as well as the rumors surrounding Martin's private life. "There have been a lot of false headlines recently," he said.

In late March, Paltrow and Martin announced, via a statement on the Goop goddess' posh lifestyle website, that the pair has decided to amicably separate.

"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," the pair said in a statement titled "Conscious Uncoupling."

The famous duo added, "We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner."

Following the split, the former couple jetted off to the Bahamas with their two children, Apple and Moses, to avoid the watchful media eye. And despite their separation, the pair has remained incredibly amicable, with a source recently telling E! News that the two are getting along "so well."

"They have been spending some nights together still and are both still living at the same house in LA," the source said. "It's kind of crazy how amicable this whole thing is. It's really interesting to spend time with them because there is no awkwardness at all. It's the oddest thing, they are acting as if they are still together."

Both parties have made their first post-separation appearance, with Martin attending the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony—sans his wedding ring—just two weeks ago, while Paltrow more recently attended her first public-event in Hong Kong to promote her lifestyle website Goop.

Martin and his bandmates also debuted a new track titled "Oceans" from their forthcoming album Ghost Stories during their visit to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on Wednesday.

Their latest track speaks to the hopeless romantics as Martin croons, "Wait for your call/ The call never came/ Ready to fall in/ Ready to claim/ I'm ready for it all, love/ I'm ready for the change."

Could he be singing out Gwyneth?! Hopefully Zane Lowe can shed some light when Martin's tell-all interview airs on April 28.
