Robin Roberts stopped by The Late Show to chat with David Letterman about her newly released memoir titled, Everybody's Got Something.

The book chronicles the Good Morning America's road to recovery and how her amazing support system—friends, family, and her girlfriend of nine years—helped her through the hardest time of her life.

When asked by the late night talk show host how she's feeling now, Roberts had nothing but positive things to report.

"I can look at your right now and say I am healthier and happier than I've ever been," she gushed. "That's all the matters."

Letterman told the 53-year-old that the title was incredibly fitting, saying, "Nobody gets a free ride."

"You think you're the only one," Roberts said of overcoming her health struggles.

"And my momma would say, 'Honey, everybody's got something.' Everybody's got something, not just a challenge, but something to give to help you get through that challenge."

Roberts has been very public about her myelodysplastic syndrome diagnosis—which resulted in a medical leave of absence from GMA while she underwent a successful bone marrow transplant over a year ago—as well as surviving breast cancer.

"I am humbled that many have an interest, and draw strength from my on-going journey," said the journalist in a statement shortly after the announcement that she was writing another boob, adding that she's "grateful for the prayers and well wishes of so many people."

She is also the author of From the Heart: Seven Rules to Live By, which was a New York Times best-seller.
