Kate Middleton and Prince William hit the same royal marks Down Under that Princess Diana and Prince Charles did 31 years ago!

On Tuesday, Prince George's mummy and daddy struck a pose in front of Australia's most famous landmark, the Uluru. Kate looked cute and poised her patterned, above-the-knee Hobbs Wessex dress, holding her hands together politely, while William, wearing khakis and an open-neck button-down, stood upright to her side with his hands clutched behind his back.

Back when Princess Diana and Prince Charles took a photo in the same location during their March 1983 Royal Tour, they posed almost the exact same way as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would years later! Unlike Kate, though, Diana's dress hit far below the knee, and her white, modest frock had much longer sleeves and a pouffier skirt. She stood to Charles' side, hands grasped behind her back, as her then-hubby, wearing an open-neck shirt and khaki-colored pants like his son later would, stood at a slight distance away from her with his hands behind his back.

As for what was said when these slightly stiff portraits were taken, 31 years apart? We may never know the whisperings between Diana and Charles, but according to People, Kate and William muddled their way through a bit of awkward small talk when they were waiting to watch the sunset. "So, what shall we talk about?" William asked his wife, then appeared to point out features on the rock and feign conversation, saying, "So, that's something over there."

Kate used her hands a lot in conversation, giving off an impression that she and William were having perhaps a bit more of a meaningful talk than they really were as all eyes fixated on them. She also swatted flies away from her face (not everything about being a princess is glam!)

An impressed schoolgirl told Prince George's parents they "were both like magic when they photos were being taken," because for a 30-second photo-heavy time, the duke and duchess did their best to smile and not blink or swat at the pests!

Kate admitted to the girl laughingly, "It was difficult," and William joked of the flies, "They were all coming for us."

Just after that, though, William reportedly told Kate he found it to be a "beautiful" sunset, calling it, "Quite breathtaking!"
