When you hear the word "luxury," you may not immediately think of all things environmentally-friendly, but there's no reason these two ideas can't be combined.

That's why in honor of Earth Day, we've found some of the world's coolest luxury resorts that are totally green. We've found hotels from the farthest flung regions of the world—everywhere from right here in California to a remote desert hotel in Egypt.

These resorts are all about being eco-chic while you maintain a super small carbon footprint. Basically, they are sustainable, guilt-free luxury.

From a luxury camping site in Australia (right near the Ayers Rock area Kate Middleton and Prince William visited today!) to chic tree houses in Sweden, we've found hotels for every type of adventurous, socially-conscious jetsetter.

There's even a hotel that doesn't have any electricity and is lit by only beeswax candles. That's some pretty serious eco-friendly stuff right there.

But even if your bank account can't handle these green splurges, it's still fun to daydream about your future vacation. So go on and take a look at our gallery to see the best eco-chic luxury resorts.
