Ready for flight!

Kate Middleton and Prince William, without Prince George, enjoyed a sunny visit to the Royal Australian Air Force Base Amberley near Brisbane on Saturday. The 31-year-old last visited the base in 2011 when he was in Queensland to meet those affected by the devastating floods in the area.

The 32-year-old donned another blue-patterned frock for the occasion, opting for a L.K. Bennett dress with poppy flowers, navy suede heels and royal blue bag by Australian designer Oroton. Kate continued to change up her signature hairstyle and opted for a half-up, half-down 'do.

Following introductions, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their way inside the F-18 Super Hornet jet. Kate effortlessly eased into the cockpit, in her knee-length ensemble and fancy footwear, and appeared delighted to take the controls. Her husband sat comfortably in the back seat.

Commanding Officer Stephan Chappell said Kate was fascinated by the "dials and gadgets" on the Super Hornet.

William and Kate visited the base's memorial garden where they planted a Plunkett Mallee (Eucalyptus curtisii) tree, which is a native tree of Queensland. They also attended a reception with serving personnel, families and veterans.

Kate was presented with a bouquet by 9-year-old Ashleigh Kearnan, whose father, Lieutenant Charles Kearnan, is a ground-defense officer who served three tours in Afghanistan.

Twin brothers Ellijah and Tobee Dyer provided the adorable moment of the day when they gave a boomerang to George's parents. As William took it, the boys shook their heads and said, "It's not for you—it's for the princess to give to George."
