American Idol: Kevin Bacon's Surprise Appearance and a Not-So Shocking Elimination

In tonight's live results show Dexter Roberts and Jessica Meuse were the bottom two. Find out who was sent home!

And the cuts just keep on coming!

Before we get into that, does any one else think that it was beyond random that Kevin Bacon opened tonight's live results show of American Idol? We love Bacon, and we know that he's the star of Fox's The Following, (which we love!) but we would have never guessed that surprise appearance in a million years. But hey, we ain't mad at it. We love bacon in any form we can get.

Anyways back to the competition: The top seven sang their hearts out this week, but as usual, American was tasked with kicking one of our finalists out of the running for season 13's crown. So who were in the bottom two this week? Host Ryan Seacrest revealed it the two singers with the the lowest amount of votes this week were  Dexter Roberts and Jessica Meuse. (Wait. No CJ Harris?! Strange.)

Despite always having a fun and infectious personality, America decided that it was Dexter's turn to leave the competition. The backwards baseball cap-lover chose to sing, "Lucky Man" as his swan song before the remaining Idol contestants showered Dexter with hugs and warm wishes.

If you're already missing Dexter, don't you worry! Mr. Roberts will be apart of the American Idol tour this summer.
