Anna Paquin made the cut!

The final trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past debuted online Tuesday night, and it showed the 31-year-old Oscar winner reprising her role as the mutant Rogue. Her inclusion came as a surprise to fans, as director Bryan Singer previously revealed that her sole scene had been trimmed from the movie.

"Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous," Singer explained in December. "It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it."

The movie isn't out until May 23, and as everyone in Hollywood knows, nothing is set in stone. In fact, 20th Century Fox confirms to BuzzFeed that Paquin is back in the film: "Essentially, [it's] a cameo."

In related news, Channing Tatum revealed that he has met with producer Lauren Shuler Donner about taking on the role of Gambit in the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse, slated for release on May 26, 2016.

"If the stars align, I would play it. I'm already working on the accent," Tatum, 33, told MTV.

Shuler Donner would love to see Tatum playing Gambit in a standalone movie, similar to what Hugh Jackman did with X-Men Origins: Wolverine; ironically, Taylor Kitsch played Gambit in the 2009 film.

"I'm dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum," she told Empire in January. "That doesn't have to be a great big movie. It's a thief in New Orleans; it's a whole different story. He's on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He's such a sweetheart."
