One of the number one questions that we have been asked over social media is our opinion of #overalls. Our answer: we love them—when worn correctly! There is a very fine line between looking effortlessly chic and looking as if you're going back to elementary school.

Overalls have been hitting the fashion scene in a big way recently and designers are taking note. GUESS just included overalls as one of the focal pieces in their new "originals" line and Rag & Bone displayed their take on the trend at this year's New York Fashion Week.

The key to wearing overalls effectively is all in the fit. Unless you are rocking a boyfriend-styled overall, make sure that your pair doesn't come off as too baggy or you will automatically lose the feminine sexiness of wearing the androgynous look.

Here are five of our favorite overalls you can buy that are guaranteed to make the perfect fashion statement, no matter where you're off to this spring!

One of Kristin's main concerns for wearing this look was "saggy ass," which we totally get. No one wants to go out on the town looking like they're wearing a diaper!

This black pair from Nasty Gal is perfectly fitted, ensuring that there is nothing sagging with this set of overalls! The low back detailing adds an extra level of sexiness, and when paired with a bright pair of pumps, is a head-turning outfit!

Vogue Senior Editor Meredith Melling-Burke is the epitome of how overalls can be worn in a completely chic style. These wide-legged bottoms are perfectly tailored for just the right amount of heel to be exposed as she layers this look with a crisp white Oxford shirt and a long black trench coat.

The pair of overalls that she is wearing during London's Fashion Week are by Isabel Marant and will set you back a pretty penny, but this pair by Paige will allow you to own your office style for half the cost!

Winner! Look no more—if you want to truly wear this trend and make it your own, you have found your match with this "Ranchhand Overall" by The Dreslyn.

The list of why we love this pair goes on and on, but the fit here is the best we have seen. This boyfriend-styled look is baggy in the right places, while the finished tailoring at the ankles makes this piece ideal for a great pair of high heels to show off.

Michael Chernow recommends wearing nothing underneath this number to up the sexiness level, but in case you're not quite ready to go braless, a simple short cami also allows you to show off some skin.

Still not completely sold on the overalls trend? Nasty Gal has your back.

This pair has a detachable shoulder strap and bib that fastens at the waist, allowing them to change into a standard jean short! When worn as an overall there is a small cutout peek into the midriff, making this look like a totally hotter version of some of the styles that we've seen in the past.

For under $80, this piece is sure to come in handy this summer for every pool party on your list!

Forever 21

Overalls don't have to be big and baggy! Forever21 has created an acid wash overall skirt that gives you a lot more room to play with!

The high-waisted design allows this look to be dressed up or down, depending on where you're wearing it! Fashion Tip: When wearing an outfit like this, make sure to keep the top very basic—the overalls speak for themselves!
