Watch: Kate Mara Wants to Return to "Cards" as What?

Kate Mara has some pretty interesting ideas on how she can return to House of Cards.

Mara, who just signed on to play the Invisible Woman in the new Fantastic Four, played Zoe Barnes on the hit Netflix series opposite Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright. Her journalist character—well, it's time for a spoiler warning. Mara's character met her end during the first episode of House of Cards' season two. The character was close to revealing several of Frank Underwood's (Spacey) misdeeds, and he took care of the problem…by pushing her in front of a train.

So how would Mara return to House of Cards for the third season? See what the star had to say in the video above!

"I've been sort of lobbying to bring me back as a different character, just give me some prosthetics. I would do that," Mara told E! News' Catt Sadler at the premiere of Transcendence. "I would come back as a ghost too, but I don't think that's going to happen."

Because Mara's character was killed off early in the season—and it was kept very much a secret—the actress said she had to lie to almost everybody in her life. "It's hard, I had to be really creative with people asking me how things were going on the show…but my family members didn't even really know," Mara said after the second season of House of Cards debuted on Netflix in February. "They were swearing at me…"

Mara knew from the start what her ultimate House of Cards fate would be and had to lie to people for years. "I kept apologizing to people...I was being paid to lie," she said on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
