Naya Rivera removed her engagement ring just one day after calling it quits with fiancé Big Sean. The actress was snapped on the L.A. set of Glee Thursday and made no attempt to hide her ring-less hand.
While one could argue that Rivera was merely in character as Santana Lopez, it's hard to imagine the TV star will want to put it back on. It is, after all, a reminder of a wedding that's no longer happening.
That same afternoon, her rapper ex was photographed smiling at Los Angeles International Airport.
The musicians began dating in April 2013, and Sean popped the question six months later with a 3.5-carat diamond ring worth an estimated $70,000. Rivera, 27, didn't drop any hints about a possible breakup when she discussed her former flame, 26, in the April/ May 2014 issue of Da Man magazine.
"I actually started following him on Twitter and I mentioned that I was a big fan. Then some fans started to alert him that I was following him. His assistant happens to be a big fan of Glee, knows my character on the show and knows who I am. So Big Sean became curious and started to ask who I was," the now single star told the publication. "A date was set, and it all just happened from there. The way our relationship blossomed is like any other relationship. We went on a date and we enjoyed each other's company; we went on another and another, and it developed like any normal relationship."
The split was announced Wednesday. "Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately," his rep said. Rivera's reps have not responded for multiple requests for comment. Prior to the breakup, the "Sorry" singer tweeted—then deleted—a message about the hip-hop superstar. "@bigsean stealing rolexes from a lady's house now. Maybe cuz I'm on Glee and making more money or something. #trifling," Rivera told her followers.
