To say the past year has been pretty incredible for Lupita Nyong'o would definitely be an understatement.

After all, the 31-year-old actress seemed to pick up practically every major award out there when it came to her stellar performance in 12 Years a Slave. Not to mention, becoming a bit of a fashionista in the process.

"It was phenomenal," Nyong'o says in the May issue of Marie Claire. "As brilliant as it was, onward ho. I hope that I will get to work soon."

Hmm, something tells us that won't be a problem.

She adds, "In due time, what I should do next and what I want to do next will reveal themselves."

However, Nyong'o is quick to point out that she is "not in the business of trying to top this year—that's virtually impossible. I'd have to be pronounced the queen of England or something."

And while she may never become Her Royal Highness, the gal is quickly becoming Hollywood royalty.

A good example of that came just last night when Nyong'o attended Marie Claire's Fresh Faces party at West Hollywood's Soho House, posing for pics with fellow May 2014 cover girls Elle Fanning and Kate Mara.

She'll next hit the red carpet on April 12 when she presents at the GLAAD Media Awards.
