Nicole Kidman knows that balancing motherhood with an acting career is no easy feat.
The Railway Man actress chatted with E! News' Jason Kennedy about how she maintains her jam-packed schedule and puts family first.
"I think we're a gypsy family and we travel around a lot, and as long as I have my husband and kids close, then everywhere feels pretty safe and pretty sane," she explained.
"I come from a family like that and we've created our family now to be like that."
She added, "Luckily Keith [Urban] and I are very, very close and our kids are very close, we're just a very tight little unit."
Kidman also shared about down-to-earth her family is despite the fact that both she and Urban are household names.
"There's a goldfish and a bunny," she said with a smile. "It's a completely normal life, which is what we both work very hard to have for our children. And I know normal has 100 different definitions these days, but what I consider normal is just really kind of eating dinner together, having breakfast together, talking, hanging out, going to movies…just the normal stuff."
Kidman continued, "I mean, there's nothing like after dinner going, 'Hey, you wanna go get ice cream?' and the excitement of going with a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old to go and get ice cream. That, to me, is an awesome Saturday night."
The Oscar winner also gushed about her hubby's love notes (she previously revealed that he leaves her one for "every single night he's away!"), saying, "I'm crazy in love with him because of it."
