Colorful hard-boiled eggs, macaroni and cheese, baked ham and roasted lamb are just a few of the traditional foods served up on Easter.

So, why not change that up?

With the holiday just a few weeks away, there's no better time than now to think about how to put a twist on the typical Easter fare.

Rather than bake up a batch of generic cupcakes, add a festive touch by swapping those out for pink bunny cupcakes, or try roasting lamb lollipops and serving them with green goddess mint dipping sauce, instead of adding a general roasted lamb to your menu.

Need more ideas? Take a peek at seven recipes that will add some spice to your Easter dinner!

1. Pink Bunny Cupcakes: Rather than bake up a batch of regular vanilla or red velvet cupcakes, add an extra touch to your sweet treats with these adorable Easter-themed cupcakes. Created by Baked Bree's Bree Hester, they come complete with pink paper baking cups, a candy bunny tail and cute bunny faces and ears (get the recipe here).

2. Lobster Macaroni and Cheese: Put a twist on your typical mac and cheese by adding in some lobster. Instead of using elbows for this dish, try penne pasta instead and amp up the cheesiness with sharp white cheddar and Gruyere. Check out the recipe from the Food Network's The Neelys, right here.

3. Lamb Lollipops with Green Goddess Mint Dipping Sauce and Roasted Potatoes: Do away with the typical roasted lamb entrée and try something different by whipping up this lamb dish created by Dan Akroyd (who knew he was a foodie?!) to the menu. These succulent lollipops, seasoned with salt and pepper and paired with a yummy dip, are sure to be a hit. Get the recipe here.

4. Crispy, Creamy Chilean Potato Puffs: Mashed potatoes can be a fave side item, but why not try your hand at these craveable potato puffs instead? Known as papas duquesas, Food and Wine describes them as a cross between mashed potatoes and French fries. They're also mixed up with Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Sounds yum, right? 5. Roasted Parmesan Green Beans: Tired of the same humdrum plate of green beans sitting on your Easter dinner table? Add some pizzazz to the veggie side with SkinnyTaste.com's recipe, which features crisp green beans topped with shredded parmesan cheese.

6. Apricot Bourbon Glazed Ham: Amp up your ham with this recipe from Marthastewart.com, which gives an alternative to the traditional baked ham with its apricot jam, bourbon and lemon juice glaze. Check out the recipe here.

7. Basil Limeade Slushies: These delicious slushies can be a refreshing touch on a warm, Easter day. Plus, they're really easy to make. All you have to do is combine lime juice, basil leaves and sugar in a blender, top it with soda water and basil leaves and serve. Get the full recipe here.
