Christina Hendricks may have gone out of her way to dress edgy and modern (chain mail!) for the Los Angeles Mad Men premiere, but she obviously wanted to bring a little Joan Holloway to the party…

Wearing classic black-lined eyes and a bold lip, the redheaded beauty took a page from Joan's handbook. Let's face it: everyone knows that Joan rocks a statement lip like no other!

We loved that Ms. Hendricks also opted to give her hair a modern tousle to match her edgy outfit, avoiding the dreaded, "I am trying too hard to look exactly like my character at the premiere" syndrome.

Try the Look: Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali gave the Mad Men star a bold lip and smoldering eye, mixing "classic" with "rock star."

Get this look by priming skin with Lancôme Visionnaire [1 Minute Blur] and then applying Lancôme Teint Visionnaire with either a foundation brush or your fingertips.

After camouflaging any dark circles or puffiness under eyes, apply YSL Crème de Blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending upwards and outwards towards your temples for extra lift.

Next, prep eyelids with Armani Fluid Sheer #2 and then apply to your eyelids. Then, line your upper lash line with Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Éclair to your eyelids. Then line your upper lash line with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee, making the line thicker as you get towards the outer corner.

Next, line the outer half of your lower lash lines with Armani Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in Black and smudge. Then, with an angled eyeliner brush dipped in the eye shadow, line the entire lower lash line to give your eyes more definition.

To give eyes an extra lift, fill in eyebrows with Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Taupe. Starting at the arch, draw small hair-sized strokes in the direction your eyebrow hair grows. Next, use the spindle to brush eyebrows upwards.

Complete the eye makeup by applying Lancôme Hypnose Drama Mascara to the upper lashes starting at the lash line, working the wand upwards in a back and forth motion. Then, apply one coat of Lancôme Definicils High Definition Mascara to the lower lashes. Tip: Remove any rogue clumps by going over lashes with a clean, disposable mascara wand.

For the statement lip, start by exfoliating lips with a sugar scrub or your toothbrush. Next, fill in lips with a lip liner pencil that matches your lipstick. Then, with a lip brush, fill in lips with Lancôme Color Design Sensational Effects Lipcolor in Red Haute. Give lips more dimension and shine by finishing with a coat of Lancôme Lip Lover Lip Color in Bouquet Finale.

We have to say that we are really going to miss seeing Christina light up the screen on Mad Men. We just hope that once the series ends and she does the red carpet for new projects, she still keeps Joan's spirit alive. We're not expecting a beehive or anything, but an occasional black-lined eye and statement lip would be nice.
