A wise Jesus once said, "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." That's John 13:34 from the Bible. For the non-religious types, the Golden Rule basically paraphrases it: "Treat others as you want to be treated."

We're not saying Honey Maid was asking WWJD? when they made their "Wholesome" graham cracker ad—which featured diverse families, including an interracial couple and same-sex parents—but it lines up.

Their senior marketing director explained, "We at Honey Maid continue to evolve...so they can be a part of everyday moments of connection in a world with changing, evolving family dynamics."

This is the original ad:

"On March 10, 2014, Honey Maid launched 'This Is Wholesome,' a commercial that celebrates all families," they explain in a new video response. "Some people didn't agree with our message."

One specific comment on Honey Maid's Facebook page read, "Wholesome IS family with one man as the Dad and one woman as the Mom, anything else is immoral." Others called for a boycott.

But, as we noted when the commercial aired, the response was overwhelmingly positive! And that's the message of Honey Maid's response: "We asked two artists to take the negative comments and turn them into something else."

"But the best part was all the positive messages we received. Over 10 times as many," Honey Maid says. "Proving that only one thing really matters when it comes to family: LOVE."

Well, two things: Love and graham crackers.

We will buy ALL of the graham crackers, Honey Maid. This is beautiful. Take our money.
