Better Call Saul: Meet the Characters in the Breaking Bad Spinoff

Better Call Saul Ursula Coyote/AMC

Better Call Saul is assembling its A-team.

The Breaking Bad spinoff starring Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks is set to premiere this fall, but not before getting its cast in order. The AMC drama is on the hunt for lawyers to support Odenkirk's Saul Goodman. Among them:

Dr. Thurber, described as a brilliant attorney in his 50s who is now restricted by an unusual affliction. Beth, a successful lawyer who's had a hard life which is complicated by her romantic entanglements with somebody else at the firm. Burt, a "Kennedy type" who's winning at life and is a name partner at a firm.

And because it's Saul Goodman, not everything is black and white in the world. The show is also looking for Eddy, a smart and calculating criminal who knows the ropes. Then there are twin brothers Zach and Luke who spend their days skateboarding and scamming.

Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad. It follows Saul Goodman in his life before he became tangled up with the meth empire run by Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). Both Cranston and Paul have expressed interest in reprising their roles in the spinoff series.

Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan is behind the series. But just because it's a prequel doesn't mean it's set firmly in the past.

NEWS: Jonathan Banks signs on for Better Call Saul as a series regular

"We think, by and large, this show will be a prequel, but the wonderful thing about the fractured chronology we employed on Breaking Bad for many years is the audience will not be thrown by us jumping around in time," Gilligan told Entertainment Weekly. "So it's possible that we may indeed do that, and we'll see the past and perhaps the future."

Better Call Saul will debut on AMC this November.
