The beast is back. In Law & Order: SVU's "Beast's Obsession," William Lewis (Pablo Schreiber) returns, and in the months since we last saw him, he's done nothing but think of Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay).

The episode features Lewis escaping from prison—and going on a killing spree—with his sights on Benson. But after her ordeal, her squad isn't letting her go through this alone and Benson is assigned a 24/7-security detail. As if that could stop Lewis.

"Everything he's doing from his escape on is meant to lure Olivia to a confrontation with him and she knows it. And he knows it. The NYPD has her on a protective detail and even so, it's one of those 'they've had this date from the beginning' kind of climaxes," SVU executive producer Warren Leight told E! News.

In the exclusive clip above, Benson and Lewis have a tense phone call. He's got Amelia (Lily Pilblad) in his clutches and Benson will do everything in her power to save the young girl. But just how much will she sacrifice in order to save her life?

"Lewis, you want me. You know you do," Benson says in the video above. "Let the girl go."

Since being kidnapped by Lewis at the end of season 14, Benson has dealt with the trauma he inflicted while rising through the ranks to become the head of the squad. She's in therapy, but will all that become moot once Lewis rears his head once again?

"I think it's going to provide some closure, but exacerbate and reopen—it's not great for your PTSD to have the guy who took you hostage escape from prison and try and lure you into a one-on-one confrontation," Leight said. "It's going to in some ways reopen some of those wounds, and he knows exactly what he wants and what he's doing."

Lewis is after one thing: "the truth." Yikes.

Law & Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
