How They Made the Series Finale.
How I Met Your Mother may be over, but CBS is still doling out goodies to share with longtime fans still mourning the end of their favorite (slightly long-winded, but totally worth it) story.
Today, the network unveiled a handful of behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the sitcom's swan song, "Last Forever." And while almost all of the pictures have us tearing up, we're definitely reaching for the tissues and ice cream thanks to the snaps of Josh Radnor and Cristin Milioti filming the highly anticipated (we're talking nine years of build up here!) first meeting of Ted and The Mother (Or, you know, Tracy).
Neil Patrick Harris lightens the mood a bit with a joyful jump and a pantsless hug with co-creator Carter Bays. (Well, he's pantsless anyway!)
After the polarizing finale, which elicited a major reaction on social media, co-creator Craig Thomas took to Twitter to address HIMYM fans.
"Thank you all. I mean it: Every possible reaction to the last 44 minutes...thank you all..." he tweeted. "The fact that we have been a TV sitcom that has received this much passion from fans, for 9 years (not just tonight)—thank you. We wrote a comedy with dramatic elements till [sic] the very end. Thanks for taking that ride with us."
