Now that spring is in full swing, we're busier than ever coming up with cute head-to-toe looks that will impress any crowd.
And since every fashionista knows that accessories make the outfit, we looked towards the runway for inspiration on the must-have pieces we wanted to incorporate into our wardrobes right now.
One of our faves? An eye-catching padlock necklace seen on the Rodarte runway for spring 2014.
We asked Erica Domesek, the crafty queen behind P.S. I Made This for a how-to guide on recreating this edgy accessory at home.
Here's what she shared:
Materials needed:
Padlock
Binder rings
Chain
Lobster clasp
Jump rings
Instructions:
1. Connect the binder rings to either side of the padlock using jump rings and a pair of pliers.
2. Connect the ends of the chain (approx. 18") to each binder ring.
3. Finish off the necklace by connecting a jump ring to one end of the chain and a clasp to the opposite.
And there you have it—a one-of-kind necklace to rock all season long!
