Welcome back, Clone Club!
All this week we've been embracing our addiction to BBC America's smash series, Orphan Black, by giving you exclusive never-before-seen sneak peeks from season two. So far, we've highlighted all of Tatiana Maslany's living clones that we already know and love, but now it's time to get to know the most mysterious character of them all: Rachel Duncan.
Fans briefly met Rachel at the end of season one when it was discovered that this "Pro Clone" has been working closely with Dr. Leekie and the DYAD Institute for many years now. "We wanted this Elite clone one who had this insight," Orphan Black executive producer Graeme Manson reveals.
So what exactly makes this abrasive blonde tick? Unlike Sarah, Alison, Cosima and many of the other clones, Rachel was raised with full knowledge of the existence of her genetically identical sisters. "I've been self-aware since I was a child," Rachel haughtily purrs in an upcoming episode.
However, unlike Helena, another self-aware clone, Rachel has been tasked with negotiating the allegiance of the other girls, rather than killing them. But don't you go breathing a sigh of relief just yet!
Within the first four episode of season two, fans will discover multiple jaw-dropping secrets about this HCIC (Head Clone in Charge!). And although we cannot tell you exactly what the details are, we can tell you that Rachel's upbringing was a truly bizarre experience.
