Danica Patrick knows a thing or two about fitness.

The auto racing star, who is also famous for her killer figure, is currently busier than ever now that the 2014 racing season is well underway, but she took a minute to chat with E! News to dish on her diet as well as her workout regime.

As for Patrick's secret to her bangin' bod, which she famously flaunted in a sexy showgirl costume when she hosted the American Country Music Awards with Trace Adkins in December?

CrossFit!

"I feel like I finally know what it's like to work out really hard," the race car driver told E! News while promoting her partnership with Can-Am Spyder (the three-wheeler which celebs like Miley Cyrus own). "I guess it first started with those Insanity DVDs…and then I started doing CrossFit last year and then you add on competition on top of super intense workouts and you had me at hello."

"I do CrossFit as many days a week as I'm home," she added.

Despite her dedication to her workouts, Patrick tells us that "your diet is at least three-quarters of the equation. If you don't eat right or you eat too much, then it doesn't matter how much you work out, unless you work out like a Navy Seal, then it's not really going to matter."

So what does Danica eat on a daily basis? The athlete revealed she's recently had to make some big lifestyle changes in terms of her health.

"I eat oatmeal and I've recently tried a little bit more restrictive diet. I've had some blood tests done that showed food intolerances," she shared. "It showed don't eat gluten and dairy and whey and yeast and eggs, and I actually did [stop] and I've been doing it for a couple of months and it works. It really does"

"You don't have to be super perfect with it, but it is definitely a lifestyle change," she continued before sharing a few of her staples. "Oatmeal, eggs, salads, when you're getting away from gluten it's more things like quinoa and potatoes and sweet potatoes…chicken, I eat steak, fish, any kind of protein."

Patrick also stressed the importance of eating organic. "But I think that I've put a lot more emphasis on eating organic, just learning more about food…I love to cook, so my education on food came from wanting to lose weight and look better so you have to learn how to cook when you finally realize you can't go get it from a restaurant that easy because you don't know what goes into it," she explained.

As for the Hollywood juicing craze? The 32-year-old star is a fan...in moderation.

"If you want a quick injection of vitamins and nutrients, juicing is fine, but it really is just sugar…I think there are times where it's great and it gets into your system quickly but I'd just much rather eat the whole vegetable or the whole fruit then you get all the fiber from it," she said. "I like to make smoothies a lot. I make a smoothie with kale, spinach, apple, pear, banana, and lemon."

Sounds delicious!

In addition to the 2014 racing season, Danica is also partnering with Can-Am Spyder to introduce their brand new RT model, which she says, "feels like you're being naughty in some ways going out on the road on it, like it's only supposed to be done on indoor areas, but it's just like any other vehicle" adding that she was "pretty impressed with the handling."
