Talk about tearin' up the hearts of 'N Sync fans everywhere.

On Tuesday, Lance Bass tweeted to his followers, "'N Sync Reunion: 2 New Songs, Tour Coming in 2015," with a link to a report posted on Ryan Seacrest's website.

The story stated that the popular boy band would be releasing "a greatest hits collection plus two new tracks, one of which will be a collaboration with Miley Cyrus."

What's more, it claimed that the "Wrecking Ball" singer "will also serve as 'N Sync's opening act when they launch their There Are Still No Strings Attached world tour next year."

However, when folks made their way to the bottom of the post, they came face to face with this:

"April Fools! The above story is just a fun fabrication ... hope you had a good laugh with us."

Well, if you want to call getting our hopes up like that and then quickly having the proverbial rug pulled out from under us as "having a good laugh," then sure.
