Don't adjust your TV: Craig Ferguson and Drew Carey really have switched CBS gigs for the day!

In a pre-planned, pre-announced April Fools' Day prank, the Late Late Show host and the Price Is Right emcee traded roles.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Ferguson surprised Carey's usual audience during a Feb. 10 taping of The Price Is Right, while Carey took over Ferguson's desk during a March 21 taping of The Late Late Show. (The audiences were tricked, but not on April Fools' Day, and those of us at home were in on the joke beforehand.)

Carey's advice for Ferguson? "You've just got to show up in a good mood," he said.

"That was the hardest part for me," quipped Ferguson after the taping. "See, Drew likes people, I'm a cranky loner. It's not so good for me. I will be in a bath of Purell for two days now."

Mr. Ferguson better brush up on those daytime interpersonal skills, though. Per THR, he's emceeing The Celebrity Name Game this fall. "Maybe it's because it's new, but it feels quite taxing," he admitted, "more taxing than I thought it was going to be, and more than running my own show."

That Scottish charm will make everything just fine, though.

The Price Is Right airs at 10 a.m. and The Late Late Show airs at 12:37 a.m.
