ABC has finally renewed several of its hits series for the 2014-15 season on Thursday, including Scandal, Revenge and Once Upon a Time.
Also renewed by the network? Long-running dramas Grey's Anatomy and Castle. Plus, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.LD., Joss Whedon's Avengers off-shoot, and freshman sitcom The Goldbergs received season two pick ups, and Modern Family was renewed for a sixth season, surprising no one. The Middle was also renewed for Season 6.
Tim Allen's sitcom Last Man Standing was renewed for a fourth season, ABC has also confirmed, while also picking up Nashville for a third season.
While Scandal, Once Upon a Time and Revenge are heading into their fourth seasons and Castle will return for its seventh season, while Grey's Anatomy will kick off its 11th season down a few major players.
Grey's Anatomy will return without original cast member Sandra Oh, who is leaving after 10 seasons, and Gaius Charles and Tessa Ferrer, who are set to exit at the end of the season.
Of course, Grey's' pickup isn't too surprising, given that Justin Chambers, Sara Ramirez, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr. also signed new deals, ensuring they will be on the medial drama through Seasons 11 and 12.
Grey's isn't the only Shonda Rhimes drama returning down an original cast member in the fall as Columbus Short announced his exit from Scandal following his recent legal troubles.
In its fourth season, Once Upon a Time will welcome Once Upon a Time in Wonderland star Michael Socha as a series regular, after ABC canceled the low-rated spinoff earlier this season.
The network had already canceled Lucky 7 and Mind Games, and had pulled Killer Women from the schedule.
As for its new shows, ABC has ordered Rhimes' new drama, How to Get Away With Murder starring Viola Davis, to series, as well as Black-ish, The Whispers, Galavant and American Crime. The network is also moving ahead with Marvel's Agent Carter, another Avengers off-shoot starring Captain America's Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, and Manhattan Love Story.
