Enrique Iglesias has been dating Anna Kournikova for the past 12 years, but he's yet to introduce the retired tennis pro to his famous father, singer Julio Iglesias. What's keeping them apart? "My kids are very independent and it is difficult to see Enrique because he is all over the world," the 70-year-old living legend tells the U.K.'s The Mirror. "But Anna is very beautiful—they have good taste, my kids."

Julio, who vows to never retire from music, tells the newspaper, "I have to tell the truth—I have never met Anna. Yes, my wife, and my kids and his brothers have, but I have never met her, no, no, never."

He may not be privy to his son's love life, but Julio is "very proud" of Enrique's accomplishments. "He is a super guy," he raves. "You know, it's not as easy to follow in the same steps as that of the father. Like if you play tennis, normally the kid doesn't play tennis like the father. But Enrique is in the same class of guys like [Kirk Douglas' son] Michael Douglas and [Judy Garland's daughter] Liza Minnelli."

Enrique has been burning up the charts with a number of club bangers, which are unlike his father's famous songs. "The music is very different to mine and he has gone his own way...I don't have to say whether I like it or not," Julio says. "He is doing very well, he is a clever guy and he is very charming."

Because he grew up with a famous father, Enrique prefers to keep his private life, well, private.

"I think it comes with the territory," he told E! News in March. "I understand why people ask, 'Are you married? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you have kids? Do you have kids that we don't know about?'"

For Enrique, it's about balance. "When I go back home, I want to make sure that whatever goes on in my house, it's just for me and my loved ones that are with me right there," he said. "I need that."
