Trace Adkins' Wife Files for Divorce

Country singer and wife Rhonda were married for 16 years

It's over. 

Trace Adkins' wife Rhonda filed for divorce on Monday in Tennessee, according to court documents obtained by E! News. The duo were married for 16 years and have three daughters.

Rhonda cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakdown of their marriage and she asks the court for primary residential custody of their children.

She's requesting that Adkins be ordered to pay child support and be required to maintain health insurance for herself and for their girls. She also asks that the country singer pay her legal fees and alimony.

Adkins, 52, has battled alcohol addition in the past and entered rehab in January, shortly after getting into an argument with a Trace Adkins impersonator on a cruise ship.

His rep confirmed to E! News at the time that he had "entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism." The statement added, "As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected."
