When in doubt, act like Mick Jagger!

That's the advice that music legend Chris Martin is offering to the contestants on The Voice for next week's second round of battle performances. At this point, the competition is fierce on all four teams, and sometimes the little changes can make the biggest differences when singers take the stage.

The Coldplay frontman has been brought on as the official mentor for The Battle: Round 2 and has advised each of the performers on vocal techniques, stage presence and the importance of tailoring songs for their own strengths and personality. Take a look at his impeccable teaching skills in the first look clip above!

Following his recently announced split from Gwyneth Paltrow, Martin will make his Voice debut this Monday and joins season-six mentors Jill Scott, The Band Perry, Aloe Blacc and Miranda Lambert.

In seasons past, The Voice used to feature the Knockout rounds at this point in the competition, however, the powers-that-be at NBC decided to just extend the battles due to their intense popularity.

The Voice goes live on Monday, April 21, with the Top 12 contestants competing for viewer votes. The Instant Save also returns when the show goes live.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
